Bowie, Austin students are top graduates in Migrant Ed program
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT -- April 22, 2019) — Two EPISD students were recently selected as the Region 19 valedictorian and salutatorian for the Migrant Education Program’s Class of 2019.
Bowie High School’s Isaac Castorena is the region’s top Migrant Education Program student with a grade point average of 4.28. Austin High School’s Priscilla Saenz will be honored as the program’s salutatorian with a grade point average of 3.92.
EPISD operates a Migrant Education Program for students whose families work in the agriculture and farming industry. These families often travel for work, and students face additional challenges in completing their education.
The work that Isaac, Priscilla and the rest of the students in the Migrant Education Program have accomplished is proof of their determination and the commitment EPISD educators have to provide services to each and every child who enrolls in our schools.
Congratulations Isaac and Priscilla!
