FirstLight FCU awards Nine El Paso ISD students with Scholarships
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT -- Aug. 16, 2022) — FirstLight Community Foundation awarded nine talented graduates of El Paso ISD Class of 2022 with $1,000 college scholarships to continue their education.
The El Paso ISD scholarship recipients were among 25 deserving students representing schools in the El Paso, Fort Bliss and Las Cruces region. FirstLight put a Gen-Z spin on the scholarship process by requiring a video application, which drew more applicants than previous years.
“Our volunteer foundation board is thankful to the students, parents, guardians and school administrators for their participation and involvement,” said FirstLight Federal Credit Union President & CEO, Karl Murphy. “We are proud to support students from our region and help contribute to their success.”
