Students, teachers can get free training on MacBook Air use at the Apple Store
Teachers and students in the El Paso Independent School District got more than just a laptop when they picked up their brand new MacBook Airs at the beginning of the school year — they also got the chance to sit in on exclusive Apple Store training on how to use the powerful machines to their fullest potential.
As part of partnership EPISD has with Apple, students and teachers in the District will have access to 90-minute intense courses at the Cielo Vista Apple Store on topics that range from movie making to spreadsheet use.
“EPISD is the only school district in the country partnering with the Apple Store to provide this type of training,” said Tim Holt, director of Innovation and Pilot Programs. “This is a great way to kick off the school year, learning how to use the MacBook Airs and iPads that are available at our schools.”
The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Teachers need to reserve their session at apple.com/today and bring their Apple device to the training.
The Apple Store also is hosting training for EPISD students every Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Students will partner with an Apple trainer to learn how to most effectively use their MacBook Airs inside and out of the classroom.
“I hope we take advantage of this unique opportunity for our teachers and students,” Holt said. “It’s a great opportunity to get training from someone outside of the District, providing a different perspective of how to best use these devices.”
Below is the schedule for the Apple Teacher program:

- Sept. 12: Making Movies in the Classroom
