EPISD nurses get masks, gowns from local doctor
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT -- Aug. 26, 2020) — EPISD students are learning virtually from the safety of their own home. But once conditions improve and campuses re-open, school nurses will be ready to take on the challenge of keeping students healthy thanks in part to the generous donation of a local doctor.
Dr. Parul Haribhai of P3 Physical Therapy this week donated 300 National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health-approved N95 facemasks and 340 disposable medical gowns for EPISD school nurses to use.
The donation will complement the personal protection equipment (PPE) EPISD has been securing for months for both employees and students to use once in-person instruction resumes.
“This donation is huge,” said Mesita Elementary school nurse Michelle Cummings, who helped secure the donation. “PPE is in high demand and this contribution ensures a healthy and safe reopening of schools once we are ready to come back to campuses.”
Thank you Dr. Haribhai!
