Enloe named interim special education assistant superintendent
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT -- Jan. 11, 2019) — Laurie Enloe has been named the interim assistant superintendent for special education and special services effective this week. She assumes the position after serving as principal of Brown Middle School for several years.
Enloe will take over the reins of the department from Emigdio Gonzalez, who had served as the interim lead of for special education since the departure of former assistant superintendent Stacy Venson in the fall. Enloe will continue to work with Gonzalez during the transition.
EPISD officials said the appointment of Enloe will give the special education department a more stable leadership during the continuing search for a permanent assistant superintendent. Enloe comes to the position with 25 years of experience in education after having served as a special-education teacher and diagnostician.
The District announced that EPISD administrator Corina Favela is the interim principal at Brown Middle School.
