Andress graduates first International Baccalaureate cohort
(ANDRESS HIGH SCHOOL -- May 25, 2019) — Theodore Andress High School on Saturday afternoon awarded high-school diplomas to nearly 400 students — including the campus’ first batch of International Baccalaureate graduates.
The ceremony highlighted the many academic, extracurricular and athletic successes the graduates amassed during their four years at the Northeast school. Those included district championships, state titles and prestigious national scholarships.
Andress is now the second EPISD school to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Program, and on Saturday 15 students became the first Eagles to earn this distinction.
The Class of 2019 included 386 graduates, who earned more than $4.5 million in scholarships and funding for post-secondary education.
The class valedictorian is Darian Malik Smith and salutatorian is Dominique Marquis Smith.
