Transmountain Early College kicks off Day 2 of EPISD graduations
(TRANSMOUNTAIN EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL -- May 25, 2019) — The El Paso Independent School District kicked off Day 2 of the 2019 Graduation Season with the commencement ceremonies for Transmountain Early College.
This is the eighth graduation ceremony for Transmountain, a school that allows students to earn an associate’s degree from El Paso Community College as they simultaneously earn credits toward a high-school diploma.
Graduates celebrated their academic accomplishments and celebrated the uniqueness of their school.
“This is no one’s home high school. We all chose to come here,” said graduate Deborah Gonzalez.
A total of 104 students make up Transmountain’s Class of 2019. The class earned $5.3 million in scholarships and funding for post-secondary education.
Valedictorian for the class is Guillermo Ornelas and salutatorian is Jennifer Saenz Viramontes.
