Gifted and Talented Programs

The El Paso Independent School District will begin identification procedures for the grades 6-8  gifted and talented programs.  Any student in grades 6-8 may be nominated by a parent, teacher, or other concerned individual to participate in the screening process.  Students will be identified by using a combination of five screening criteria:

  • specific classroom activities;
  • teacher observation log;
  • parent checklist;
  • student grades; and
  • standardized testing measures.

Please pick up an application in your counselor’s office.  If you have any questions, please talk with your child’s counselor (Ms. Sepulveda A – L or Ms. Black M – Z).

We will be accepting nominations until Friday, March 15, 2019 for the Spring Semester of this school year. Late applications will not be accepted.

English and Spanish Applications are available.

Thanks, and turn in the application to your counselor no later than Friday, March 15.
