Sayavedra presents Superintendent’s 90 Day Entry Plan
(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT -- Jan. 14, 2022) — Superintendent Diana Sayavedra today published her Superintendent’s 90 Day Entry Plan, a 19-page document that outlines and frameworks her transition into the District and allows all stakeholders to review her plans and goals as the leader of the region’s keystone educational institution.
The plan details her first 90 days as superintendent and includes details on activities and tasks she has set during her introductory period to El Paso ISD. The plan can be viewed here. (Para leer el Plan de Ingreso de 90 Días de la Superintendente en español, haga clic aquí.)
“The overall objective of the entry plan is listen, learn and lead,” Sayavedra said. “The importance of understanding the general culture of El Paso ISD and the El Paso Community cannot be overemphasized.”
The plan is organized in three phases:
- Phase 1 (January): Entry Plan development, engagement with the Board of Trustees and document review;
- Phase 2 (February & March): Listen, Learn & Lead and establish clear communication structures; and
- Phase 3 (March): Feedback analysis and the development of a plan of action.
Throughout her transitional period, Sayavedra plans to continue to coordinate campus visits and engage with students, teachers, employees and other community stakeholders in El Paso.
“Understanding the importance of how to best engage with the existing culture of the District is essential for a new leader to successfully transition into the role of superintendent,” she said. “The evolution of the superintendent as a leader allows for stakeholders to be participants in the process of moving the organization forward toward becoming a District of Choice.”
