Message from Superintendent Diana Sayavedra

Dear EPISD,

We have reached the end of the first nine weeks! I want to thank faculty, staff, students and parents for a successful start to the school year.

Intersession is scheduled Oct. 3-14. During the week of Oct. 3-7, teachers will be working with students to strengthen their reading and math skills. The district will be closed the week of Oct. 10-14. All students and staff will return Oct. 17. When we return, we will continue to build on the positive momentum generated thus far and seize opportunities for improvement. The district is committed to ensuring that each classroom fosters a positive culture of learning while providing the support necessary to make our students successful.

I hope to see everyone at the El Paso ISD Night with the Locomotive on Saturday, Oct. 8, for the team’s season finale at Southwest University Park. For information and specially priced tickets, go to https://bit.ly/episd_loco

During the break, take the time to do the things you enjoy. Truly engage with family and friends. Take a walk, read a book for pleasure, hug your children or travel to your favorite place. Rest your mind and fill your heart. Remember – the most productive educators are those who achieve a healthy life balance.

I look forward to seeing everyone back rejuvenated and with a renewed passion for continuing our noble work.

It Starts With Us!

Sincerely,Diana SayavedraSuperintendent of Schools
