Chapin High School graduation kicks off EPISD commencement season
CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL -- May 24, 2019) — The El Paso Independent School District’s 2019 Commencement Season kicked off early on Friday when more than 400 excited students participated in the commencement exercises for Capt. John L. Chapin High School at the Don Haskins Center of the University of Texas at El Paso.
Parents, friends and family members gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduates and to pay respect to the school’s namesake, an El Paso native who was killed in action during War World II as part of the storied Men of Company E.
Valedictorian for Chapin’s Class of 2019 is Tyler Stoeger. The salutatorian is Carlos Barker.
Chapin’s Class of 2019 amassed $10.4 million in scholarships, grants and other funding for post-secondary education and training.
