The conference also includes a student panel featuring El Pasoans currently attending highly selective universities such as MIT, Princeton University, Occidental College and the University of Pennsylvania who will offer their perspective on applying and attending college.
“This conference is to continue provide our high school students and parents with as much information as possible about the different postsecondary options available to students,” said Richard Couder, college readiness facilitator. “The conference is designed to reach all high school students from those thinking of joining the workforce immediately after high school to those looking to apply to Ivy League universities.”
Sessions are 50 minutes and long run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, which are available through Schoology during EPISD’s intersession. Participants can select to attend any of the 24 sessions from local, state and national presenters. All sessions will allow for audience questions after the main presentation. Conference attendees and presenters also can network and interact casually during virtual session between noon and 1 p.m. both days.
“I am hopeful that students and parents take advantage of all of the different presentations to help gain the knowledge needed to better prepare for their childrens' future after high school,” Couder said.

- A panel presentation on vocational careers
