Subaru El Paso surprises six Magoffin teachers with gift certificates to AdoptAClassroom.com
(MAGOFFIN MIDDLE SCHOOL – Sept. 7) – Subaru El Paso surprised six Magoffin Middle School teachers Wednesday afternoon with $500 gift certificates to AdoptAClassroom.org and a box filled with supplies for their classroom.
Magoffin was the only school in El Paso to be selected for the Subaru El Paso AdoptAClassroom program, which is part of the national Subaru Loves Learning initiative. The teachers selected for the giveaway are Daniel Gregorcyk, Valerie Hernandez, Robert Stuckwisch, Ruby Doty, Elizabeth Speed and Diego Garcia.
“We are always looking for ways to give back to our community,” said general manager Barbara Armendariz. “Subaru is not just about selling cars. It’s really about caring for people. That’s one of the reasons I like Subaru so much.”
The six teachers will be able to select items from AdoptAClassroom.com’s marketplace, which offers a wide variety of offerings for the classroom.
Hernandez hopes to buy some flexible seating for her students to keep them motivated.
“I’m super grateful,” she said. “I appreciate it. A lot of my money goes into buying stuff for my students, buying stuff for my work. It’s super helpful.”
