Bond projects alter student dropoff
The El Paso Independent School District is excited to start the Bond 2016 construction projects at Irvin High School. To help you stay up to date on the construction, we would like to share the following information with you:
* The EPISD Board of Trustees has approved HB Construction as the general contractor for the Bond 2016 projects at Irvin. HB Construction has begun setting up for future construction on campus.
* Fencing will be installed around a portion of the parking lot facing Sanders St. in order to create safety zones for students and staff during construction. Parents will be allowed to use the designated one-way lane to the right of the fencing to drop-off students. Vehicular or pedestrian traffic will not be allowed in the fenced off area during construction.
* Fencing will be installed around the parking lot facing Roanoke Drive in order to create a safety zone to separate students and staff from construction. Parents will be allowed to use the designated one-way lane around the fencing to drop-off students. Vehicular or pedestrian traffic will not be allowed in the fenced off area during construction.
* The first phase of the Bond 2016 project includes the demolition of Building A, the construction of a new building addition facing Sanders St., and the construction of a theater addition adjacent to the fine arts building. The expected completion date for the new additions is Summer 2020, renovations to classrooms will follow in the 2020-2021 school year.
