Students at Logan Elementary School are getting a better understanding of animals and the importance of conservation.

On Monday, Feb. 26, members of Fragile Planet stopped by the Logan campus to educate students about some of the creatures that cohabit Earth with humans. Animal trainers introduced students to a baby Morelet’s crocodile, a bullfrog, and some wildlife birds. Teachers at the event said it’s a great learning opportunity for the students.

“Some of these kids have never really experienced these types of animals before, so this is very exciting for our little ones,” said Pre-K 4 teacher Shagarro Lattin. “The kids are able to ask questions to some of the trainers and learn about the animal’s behaviors.”

The event was the first time Fragile Planet and Logan Elementary School teamed up and organizers hope to plan more educational opportunities for the students in the future.
