(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – July 2, 2024) — The El Paso Independent School District is pleased to welcome Dr. Domingo Jauregui as the new Director for Special Education. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record in special education, Dr. Jauregui brings exceptional leadership and expertise to the district.
Dr. Jauregui joins us from Clint Independent School District where he held the position of Assistant Special Education Director, a role he has excelled in since 2020. During his tenure at Clint ISD, Dr. Jauregui provided invaluable support and guidance to special education staff, campus administrators, and district leaders. He was instrumental in ensuring compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and fostering best instructional practices.
Previously, Dr. Jauregui also served as the Special Education Coordinator at Clint ISD from 2014 to 2020. In this capacity, he developed and delivered professional development programs, supported special education processes, and advocated for special education within school leadership. His efforts ensured the appropriate delivery of special education instruction and related services, benefiting countless students.
Dr. Jauregui holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree with a specialization in Special Education from Northcentral University, achieved with a commendable 3.91 GPA. His dissertation focused on "Emotional Intelligence for Special Education Teachers," reflecting his deep commitment to enhancing educational outcomes.
He also earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. His thesis on "Positive Rapport in Special Education Classrooms" underscores his dedication to fostering supportive learning environments.
Dr. Jauregui completed his Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Special Education at UTEP. He holds certifications in special education (K-12) and as a generalist (4-8).
