Parents and students walk around Mesita ECDC for Wellness Wednesday

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – April 30, 2024) — Mesita Elementary School and Mesita Early Childhood Development Center are excited to invite parents to participate in their children’s health education.

The campuses will host Wellness Wednesday on May 1 and May 8. Wellness Wednesday is a districtwide initiative aimed at fostering a culture of physical activity among children. Parents and guardians are encouraged to join their children during these events, engaging in various healthy activities while building meaningful partnerships with the school.

The event is made possible through the Healthy Lifestyle Initiative grant, generously sponsored by Walmart. Mesita Elementary and Mesita ECDC were among only three schools in Texas to receive this grant. The grant promotes healthy lifestyles through three pillars: healthy bodies, healthy minds and healthy earth.

Mesita warmly invites parents to join hands in promoting the well-being of our children.

The class with the highest parent participation in each grade will be rewarded with a refreshing smoothie and fruit party. Additionally, all participants will receive a reusable water bottle and sunglasses as tokens of appreciation. Access to the event is through the back gate entrance.
