(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT — April 26, 2024) — Franklin High School's mariachi program has been invited to share the stage with renowned Mexican singer Yuri during a stop on her Euforia U.S. Tour. The performance is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the El Paso County Coliseum.
The invitation comes on the heels of Franklin High School’s outstanding success at the 2024 UIL State Mariachi Festival, where the school’s mariachi group claimed the top honor. Competing against mariachi programs from across the state, Franklin High School secured a “Superior” rating and a first division trophy, underscoring the program’s excellence and dedication.
Yuri is a singer, actress and television host who first gained recognition in the late 1970s. Her remarkable career has spanned decades and genres, from pop to regional Mexican music, showcasing her exceptional vocal talent and versatility.
