(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – April 19, 2024) — El Paso ISD has named Elizabeth Perez as the district’s new director of the Budget and External Financial Management office.
Perez has several years of experience in budgeting and financial services for El Paso ISD. Previously, she served as the assistant director of External Funding for the same department. In that position, Perez helped prepare annual budgets and stayed up to date on changing state and federal guidelines. She also coordinated with stakeholders to effectively use external funds in line with state and federal requirements.
In her new role, Perez will continue to help her department provide excellent customer support. Additionally, she will help manage financial resources for the district and provide training to schools/departments, so that those organizations can successfully implement funding programs and ensure the district remains in compliance with fiscal regulations.
Perez studied business and accounting at the University of Texas at El Paso and continued her education at Park University where she earned a degree in bachelor of science in management. She has been with El Paso ISD since 2007 when she started as a capital assets accountant for the Financial Services Department.
