(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – March 19, 2024) — The El Paso Independent School District proudly announces Dr. Green Elementary School as the district’s second Montessori program location, expanding opportunities for families to engage and empower learners in their educational journey.
The latest Montessori program will open to students beginning in the 2024-25 academic year. The West El Paso location will allow families throughout the district a second opportunity to have their child experience this unique program in a place that’s familiar and closer to home.
Dr. Green Elementary School Principal Guadalupe Pineda, who will work alongside Montessori Principal Isabel Justo, expressed excitement, stating, “We are honored to introduce another enriching educational choice within El Paso ISD. This expansion underscores our commitment to providing diverse programs that inspire and support student success.”
The selection of Dr. Green Elementary as the second Montessori site followed a comprehensive assessment of district needs and community input gathered during engagement sessions.
Newly appointed Montessori Principal Isabel Justo eagerly anticipates welcoming families to the program, stating, “I am thrilled with the site selection and look forward to fostering a supportive learning environment at the beautiful Dr. Green Elementary campus.”
An open house is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Dr. Green Elementary, located at 5430 Buckley Drive. Families are invited to meet the administration, tour the campus, and experience a model classroom. Registration for Montessori and all district programs opens April 1, with priority seating available for students residing within the Dr. Green Elementary School boundary. Families can apply for priority admission here.
The Montessori program emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world skill development in an environment that nurtures independence. Open to children ages 4-6 throughout the county, El Paso ISD’s Montessori program is offered free of charge.
Following the successful launch of the first public Montessori program at Moreno Elementary School, El Paso ISD continues to witness strong interest, with more than 80 students currently enrolled and many more eager to join in the upcoming school year.
