David Ayala Executive Director of Operations Support Services

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – August 20, 2024) — El Paso ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of David Ayala as the new Executive Director of Operations Support Services. With over 21 years of experience in the construction and facilities management sector, Ayala brings a wealth of expertise and a commitment to excellence that aligns with the district's strategic goals. 

In his most recent role as Senior Project Manager at Nine Degrees Construction in El Paso, Ayala demonstrated strong leadership by overseeing various projects from inception to completion. His responsibilities included budgeting, team management, vendor coordination, and ensuring project deadlines were met. His ability to manage complex projects and ensure quality outcomes will be invaluable as he takes on this new role within El Paso ISD. 

Before joining Nine Degrees Construction, Ayala served as Director of Facilities & Operations at Fabens ISD, where he was instrumental in maintaining the district's facilities, managing transportation, custodial, and security services, and ensuring a safe and functional environment for all students and staff. His efforts in improving operational efficiencies and his hands-on approach to problem-solving have earned him a reputation as a reliable leader. 

Ayala’s experience also extends to his tenure as Coordinator of Facilities and Construction at Socorro ISD, where he was responsible for overseeing construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, and serving as a liaison between contractors and the district. His meticulous attention to detail and dedication to ensuring safe, high-quality learning environments for students were key components of his success. 

Ayala is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Project Management at the University of Phoenix, with an expected completion in December 2024. Ayala’s appointment marks a significant step forward for El Paso ISD as the district continues to prioritize the safety, functionality, and excellence of its educational facilities.
