Nicholas DeSantis Principal CCTE New El Paso ISD Appointment

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – September 4, 2024) — El Paso ISD is pleased to announce Nicholas DeSantis as the new principal of the Center for Career and Technology Education (CCTE) campus, effective September 10. 

DeSantis brings over 15 years of experience in education, marked by a strong commitment to student achievement and leadership development. He began his educational career as a teacher in Rochester, New York, before joining El Paso ISD in 2010 as an English teacher and Head Baseball Coach. DeSantis has held several key positions within the district, including Assistant Principal at Bowie High School, where he implemented significant improvements in instructional programs and student services. 

Most recently, DeSantis served as the principal of H.E. Charles Middle School, where he spearheaded initiatives such as the Pre-Engineering CTE Program of Study and the AVID program, both of which have been instrumental in enhancing student readiness for college and careers. His leadership at Charles Middle School contributed to the campus earning a TEA A-Rating in 2023, along with several other accolades. 

DeSantis holds a Master of Science in Education from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester, along with a Principal Certification from Lamar University. His educational background, coupled with his experience in diverse instructional and administrative roles, positions him to lead CCTE in its mission to provide cutting-edge career and technology education to El Paso ISD students.
