(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – October 2, 2024) — The El Paso Independent School District Board of Trustees has taken a significant step toward a transparent and inclusive bond planning initiative by unanimously approving the selection of bond strategist services from IN2 Architecture, Inc. This decision marks the beginning of a thorough process aimed at improving educational facilities and resources in alignment with the district's Hopes & Dreams Realized Strategic Blueprint.
This decision does not guarantee a bond proposal; that authority rests with the voters. The board has allocated up to $2.09 million for bond strategist services, which will focus on essential preparatory work such as community engagement, research, and the creation of strategic designs. These early steps are designed to ensure any potential bond is carefully researched, transparently developed, and aligned with El Paso ISD’s vision of becoming a Destination District. This process highlights the district’s dedication to fostering a Culture of Accountability, using data-driven insights to enhance student success.
“We are committed to working through a transparent process with students, staff, parents, and the community to ensure we maximize any and all investments and build trust,” said Superintendent Diana Sayavedra.
IN2 Architecture, Inc. brings extensive experience in bond strategy and planning, with a focus on inclusive community involvement. Their role in the coming months will include gathering input from a wide range of stakeholders, hosting community engagement sessions, and ensuring the bond proposal reflects the needs of students, staff, and families while promoting equity across all campuses.
El Paso ISD emphasizes that this is only the first step in a longer journey. The district’s priority is to maintain an informed, community-driven decision-making process throughout. By incorporating feedback from all corners of the community and thoroughly analyzing the needs of every school, the district aims to create enhanced learning environments that support student growth and elevate academic outcomes.
As this planning process unfolds, El Paso ISD will continue to provide opportunities for community members to share their perspectives and input. This collaborative approach is critical to ensuring that any future bond proposal aligns with the district’s long-term mission of becoming a Destination District, delivering equitable and impactful opportunities for every student.
