(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – October 31, 2024) — Generous donations from community members, businesses, and local organizations helped raise substantial funds to advance student success and educational initiatives across El Paso ISD. During the district's 2024 State of the District address, held at the Epic Railyard Event Center on October 29, attendees participated in a successful fundraising effort.

The El Paso ISD Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization, provides Classroom Impact Grants to teachers and scholarships to graduating seniors. These resources are instrumental in helping students access quality education and necessary support for success beyond high school.

Among the student success stories is Athenas Delgado, a graduate of the College, Career & Technology Academy (CCTA), who is now attending the University of Texas at Austin with plans to study law. The grants she received will help cover essential expenses such as tuition, rent, transportation, and food.

During the State of the District, Superintendent Diana Sayavedra shared her vision of advancing academic excellence, innovation, and leadership across the district. She highlighted El Paso ISD's focus on delivering a high-quality education through expanded academic programs, enhanced instructional materials, and new initiatives like Algebra for All and innovative high school programs. Sayavedra emphasized that 96% of El Paso ISD seniors have applied to college, a testament to the district's commitment to college and career readiness.

Student engagement in arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities was another key theme. El Paso ISD continues to produce accomplished scholars, All-Region Orchestra musicians, and state-level athletes in cross-country, swimming, wrestling, and track.

The presentation also featured the Destination District Redesign (DDR) — a transformative plan to foster 21st-century learning environments, expand academic programs, and optimize district resources. Sayavedra highlighted initiatives such as STEAM partnerships and Purple Star campus recognitions, aligning educational opportunities with current needs.

In closing, Sayavedra encouraged continued community support for the district's vision to "inspire and empower learners to thrive." El Paso ISD expresses its deepest gratitude to all partners and supporters who attended and continue to support its mission and the work of the El Paso ISD Education Foundation.
