Bowie girls Basketball team

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – February 6, 2025) – The El Paso ISD girls' basketball teams delivered an outstanding season, with several schools securing top spots in district standings and earning playoff berths. Among the season’s biggest highlights was the Bowie High School girls' basketball team, which claimed its first district championship in 22 years, marking a historic achievement for the program.

Bowie, which topped the 1-4A district standings, was joined by fellow El Paso ISD schools Austin, Irvin, and Young Women’s Academy, all of whom showcased resilience and determination throughout the season.

Burges HS Girl's Basketball teamIn 1-5A, Burges High School emerged as the district champion, followed by Chapin and Andress, who also secured playoff spots. The competitive district saw strong performances across the board, with Burges and Chapin continuing their tradition of excellence on the court.

Franklin High School also made waves in 1-6A, finishing fourth in a tough district dominated by Eastwood and Pebble Hills. Franklin’s playoff berth reflects the program’s continued growth and determination.

With the playoffs ahead, these teams are preparing to make deep postseason runs and represent El Paso ISD on the biggest stage. Their hard work, dedication, and team spirit have made this season one to remember.
