(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – Feb. 28, 2025) – After gathering valuable input from the community, El Paso ISD’s Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 revised academic calendar (Option B) and the 2026-27 academic calendar (Option B) during the February 18 regular board meeting.

Various stakeholders played an important role in shaping the district’s instructional schedules by designing and voting during the process, ensuring that the approved calendars reflect the needs and preferences of students, families, and educators.

2025-26 Academic Calendar updates:

• Option B was selected and approved.

• An Early Release Day was moved to October 31 instead of September 24.

• Some Early Release Days were removed.

• The calendar maintains a balance between instructional time and professional development opportunities for educators.

2026-27 Academic Calendar Highlights:

• Option B was also selected for the 2026-27 school year.

• President’s Day and March 29 will be full school days.

• Students will receive a full two-week Spring Break instead of the eight days proposed in Option A.

The district remains committed to maximizing instructional time while providing students and teachers with structured breaks to support academic success and well-being.
