(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – July 22, 2025) — El Paso ISD proudly announces the appointment of Patricia Lira as the new principal of Park Elementary School. With more than two decades of experience in education and a strong track record of leadership, Lira brings a deep commitment to student success and a passion for empowering teachers, families, and the community.
Lira most recently served as principal of Lamar Elementary School, where she played a pivotal role in advancing student achievement and strengthening school culture. Prior to becoming principal, she served as Lamar’s assistant principal for nearly eight years. Her career also includes experience as a counselor, science coach, and classroom teacher across multiple grade levels.
Lira holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood and three master’s degrees from the University of Texas at El Paso, in Instructional Specialist, Educational Psychology, and Educational Administration. Her background in instructional leadership and student services uniquely positions her to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of all learners.
Throughout her career, Lira has been dedicated to creating supportive, engaging environments that cultivate a lifelong love of learning. She is also no stranger to school improvement work, having contributed to Lamar Elementary’s recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School in both 2015 and 2021.
