(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – August 5, 2025) — El Paso ISD is proud to announce that Dana Harley Boyd, Elementary Executive Principal, has been named the 2025–2026 President of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). She and her fellow Executive Committee officers were officially installed at TEPSA’s Summer Conference in June.

“Dana’s leadership and expertise will be invaluable assets in driving the Association's initiatives and championing Texas PK-8 students and educators. We appreciate her steadfast leadership and service to the profession and Association,” Executive Director Harley Eckhart said.

Dana BoydBoyd’s presidency marks a significant milestone for El Paso ISD and for educational leadership across the state. With more than 20 years of experience as an educator and principal, she brings a legacy of excellence, innovation, and service to her new statewide leadership role.

In her inaugural presidential column in the August issue of TEPSA News, Boyd introduced the guiding theme for her term: “Leave an Unforgettable Legacy.” She encourages fellow school leaders to reflect on the lasting impact they have on their communities—through every decision, word, and act of leadership.

“As school leaders, we are writing our legacies every day,” Boyd said. “It’s an honor to serve as TEPSA President and to help elevate the voices of PK-8 leaders across Texas. I’m proud to represent El Paso ISD and look forward to a year of inspiration, growth, and collective impact.”

Boyd’s many accomplishments include being named the 2016 NAESP National Distinguished Principal for Texas and the 2020 H-E-B Excellence in Education Elementary Principal. She has served on the National Assessment Governing Board, which oversees The Nation’s Report Card (NAEP), and has held multiple leadership roles within TEPSA, including positions on the Executive Committee, Region 19 Board, and the Advocacy and Strategic Planning Committees.

Founded in 1917, TEPSA serves more than 6,000 Texas PK-8 school leaders, representing over 3 million students statewide. Learn more at www.tepsa.org.
