Dear El Paso ISD,
I hope you all enjoyed a refreshing Labor Day break and had the chance to relax and recharge. As we return, I’m excited to share that El Paso ISD is taking bold steps to reconnect with students and families through our Operation Search Telethon. This initiative, part of our Right Here. Right Now. Because…attendance campaign, begins today as staff members reach out to families of students who have not yet returned this school year or who left without formally transferring. The goal is simple but powerful: to offer support, answer questions, and encourage every student to come back and be part of our El Paso ISD community — because every day counts toward their future success.
This month also brings Parent-Teacher Conferences, an important time to strengthen the partnership between home and school. Conferences will take place on September 16 for elementary schools, September 17 for high schools, and September 18 for middle schools and PK-8 campuses. Please remember that students will have early release on each of these days to allow for meaningful conversations between parents and teachers. We encourage every family to take part and join us in supporting student success.
I want to take a moment to thank all our schools for their focused work, dedication, and commitment to student success. This week, I had the joy of visiting several of our “A” and “B” rated campuses alongside district leaders to celebrate their accomplishments. It was inspiring to see the pride in their achievements of our students and staff. Together, we are building on this success and take pride in the incredible work being done in our schools.
We continuously strive to bring innovation that helps our student learners flourish. The grand opening of the brand-new Esports Lab at Guillen Middle School provides students with a state-of-the-art environment that blends technology, teamwork, and learning. We look forward to bringing the 21st-century learning space to more campuses across our District; to learn more please click here.
We are also proud to highlight a special collaboration with the El Paso Museum of Art. Throughout the month of September, El Paso ISD art students will have their work showcased in the Community Spotlight: “EPISD Transformation Through Art” exhibit. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity and talent of our students, and I encourage everyone to stop by the museum before the exhibit closes on September 30.
I want to thank the families who have completed the annual Federal Impact Aid Form. This form is essential to securing critical funding from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds support our classrooms, teachers, and other programs. The deadline to submit the form is Thursday, September 18. The form is available by clicking here.
Lastly, I invite you to follow El Paso ISD on Facebook, Instagram, and X. Don’t forget to like, share, and post; every action helps shine a light on the incredible things happening in our schools.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our students and schools. I wish you all a successful and fulfilling week ahead.
It starts with us.
Sincerely,
Martha Aguirre
Interim Superintendent of Schools
