Chapin High School Stock Competition

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT — Oct. 20, 2025) — Chapin High School students proved their financial savvy at the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge, earning top honors in a competition that tests strategy, teamwork, and real-world investing skills.

Under the guidance of teacher Dora Jones, Chapin students demonstrated exceptional analytical and decision-making abilities — finishing 1st, 2nd, and 5th overall among teams from across the region.

Stock Market Challenge“Chapin students continue to impress us with their hard work and leadership,” Principal Ragen Chappell said. “Their performance at the Stock Market Challenge highlights not only their academic strength but also the power of preparation and teamwork.”

The Stock Market Challenge is a fast-paced simulation that allows students to experience the excitement of Wall Street as they buy and sell stocks, respond to breaking news, and make financial decisions in a dynamic, real-time environment. The event helps students develop critical thinking, collaboration, and financial literacy skills that will serve them in college, careers, and life.

The first place team will compete in the national competition in Boston later this year.
