Silva Health Magnet is a place where passion meets purpose, and where students with a heart for service discover their pathway to the future. Since opening in 1994, Silva has earned a reputation as one of the most distinguished magnet schools in Texas, offering students a rigorous academic experience rooted in healthcare, science, and service to others.
Located in the heart of the Medical Center of the Americas, the campus sits steps away from University Medical Center, El Paso Children’s Hospital, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. This unique setting enriches our students' education with real-world experiences, clinical partnerships, and hands-on learning opportunities that mirror the work of healthcare professionals.
Our state-of-the-art health science labs allow students to practice clinical skills before stepping into hospital and clinical environments. All HST courses are taught by licensed healthcare professionals, ensuring students learn directly from experts in the field.
Students also benefit from a wide range of advanced coursework, including Advanced Placement, UT OnRamps, and Dual Credit classes. Silva’s accelerated RN Bridge Program, offered in partnership with Texas Tech University’s Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, gives high-achieving students the opportunity to begin nursing school immediately after graduation and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in just two years.
