School Board Recognition Month

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – Jan. 5, 2026) — El Paso ISD proudly joins school districts across Texas in celebrating School Board Recognition Month, honoring the dedicated trustees who commit their time and expertise to serve the community and guide the district’s work on behalf of students.

This year’s theme, “Our Future Is Public,” highlights the vital role school boards play in strengthening public education, supporting student success, and investing in the future of El Paso. EPISD trustees work collaboratively to set district priorities, ensure accountability, and advocate for high-quality educational opportunities for every student.

El Paso ISD extends heartfelt thanks to each member of the Board of Trustees — including the Board President Leah Hanany, Vice President Dr. Jack Loveridge, Secretary Alex Cuellar, and Trustees Mindy Sutton, Robert Osterland, Valerie Beals, and Daniel Call — for their thoughtful leadership, and unwavering advocacy for students and educators. Their collective service, diverse perspectives, and shared commitment to public education help shape decisions that impact classrooms, campuses, and the broader El Paso community every day.
