EPISD Wrestling

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT — Jan. 15, 2026) — Bowie High School will once again welcome wrestlers from across El Paso County as it hosts the 47th annual Bowie Wrestling Invitational, a long-standing tradition that celebrates athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and community pride.

The two-day event will take place Friday and Saturday, January 16–17, beginning at 9 a.m. each day, and will feature varsity wrestlers from high schools throughout El Paso County, including multiple El Paso ISD campuses. Over the years, the tournament has grown into one of the region’s premier wrestling events, drawing participation from more than 20 schools and showcasing some of the area’s top student-athletes.

Hosted by Bowie High School, the invitational highlights the school’s rich wrestling tradition and its commitment to providing competitive opportunities for students to test their skills on a large stage. The tournament also serves as an opportunity for students to demonstrate discipline, perseverance, and respect — values that extend well beyond the mat.

The district wishes good luck to all EPISD wrestlers competing this weekend and thanks Bowie High School for continuing a tradition that has become a cornerstone of high school wrestling in the El Paso community.
