Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy hosted a celebration to honor Rebecca Guerrero.

As we begin a new week, I want to recognize the outstanding educators whose leadership continues to move our district forward. I am proud to spotlight Rebecca Guerrero from the Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, who recently earned the James F. Veninga Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award, the highest honor presented by Humanities Texas. As the only educator in our region to receive this recognition, Rebecca’s commitment to empowering young women through rigorous instruction inspires our community across El Paso ISD.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to visit campuses and see firsthand how our schools are preparing students for college, career, and military readiness. From advanced academics to career and technical education and workforce partnerships, our educators are creating meaningful experiences that open doors and help students envision their future beyond graduation.

Mark your calendar! Beginning this week, El Paso ISD will host a series of Community Conversations inviting families, staff, students, and community members to help shape the future of our district.

• Tuesday, February 3 with Trustee Osterland at Andress High School (5400 Sun Valley Dr.).

• Wednesday, February 4 with Trustee Ganelon Beals at Lundy Elementary School (6201 High Ridge Dr.).

This week also includes Parent-Teacher Conferences, offering families a valuable opportunity to connect with teachers and support student success.

Thank you.
