The Classroom and Beyond with Superintendent Dr. Brian Lusk

In the glow of flying sparks, El Paso ISD student welders push precision, passion, and power to the limit.

As we move forward this spring, our work across the district remains anchored in what matters most, strong instruction in every classroom, every day. Our teachers and campus teams continue to pour their skill and passion into creating meaningful learning experiences for students, and that focus is driving real momentum.

We’re strengthening the bridge between classroom learning and real‑world experience. Our partnerships with local businesses, industry leaders, and community organizations continue to grow, expanding internships and hands‑on opportunities that help students explore careers, build skills, and see the relevance of what they learn every day.

Our high schools also offer strong academic pathways that lead to prosperity. Alongside P‑TECH programs, where students can earn industry certificates and even an associate degree, we provide UT OnRamps, allowing students to take college‑level courses, earn both high school and transferable UT Austin credit, and experience university rigor right on their campus. We’re also proud to be part of the National Education Opportunity Network (NEON), which enhances our ability to expand dual‑credit and college‑readiness opportunities, especially for first‑generation students.

Together, internships, dual‑enrollment programs, and innovative classroom experiences create powerful, connected pathways that prepare our students for whatever comes next.

Above all, we’re staying centered on campuses. The work happening every day in classrooms continues to inspire me, and I’m grateful for the dedication I see across our district.

Celebrating Montessori Education Week

As we celebrate Montessori Education Week (Feb. 23–27), we recognize the unique impact Montessori education has in fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning among our youngest students. Our Montessori classrooms emphasize hands-on learning, critical thinking, and the development of real-world skills. We encourage families to stay informed about events taking place at our Montessori campuses, Montessori at Dr. Green and Montessori at Moreno, as they highlight the meaningful work happening in their classrooms.
