Celebrating the heart and soul of El Paso ISD! Huge congratulations to our 2025–26 Teacher of the Year and Educational Support Personnel of the Year finalists. These extraordinary individuals prove that while our classrooms are the center of the universe, it is our people who make the magic happen. Click here to see a full size image.
As we head into Spring Break, I find myself reflecting on the incredible people who make El Paso ISD a leader in excellence. We often say our classrooms are the center of our universe, but the true gravitational force that holds that universe together is our people.
This week, we are honored to announce the top 10 finalists for the 2025–26 Teacher of the Year (TOY) and the top 10 finalists for the Educational Support Personnel (ESP) of the Year. These 20 exceptional individuals represent the very best of our district. They are the innovators guiding learning in our classrooms, the welcoming faces in our front offices, and the dedicated teams behind the scenes who ensure our students learn in safe, supportive environments.
As we pause for the upcoming break, I encourage everyone, students, staff, and families, to take this time to rest, recharge, and reflect. Whether you're participating in intersession enrichment or enjoying time with loved ones, please know that your hard work is what creates the “magic” of El Paso ISD. I look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready, as we move into a busy and bright spring season.

EPISD Students Nominated to U.S. Service Academies
On Saturday, I was honored to join Congresswoman Veronica Escobar to celebrate several El Paso ISD students who received prestigious nominations to our nation’s U.S. Service Academies. These nominations recognize the elite academic and leadership standards our students consistently achieve on their path to national service. We look forward to seeing the next generation of El Paso ISD leaders step forward for this life-changing opportunity.
Tigerpalooza at El Paso High
The spirit of “The Lady on the Hill” shone brighter than ever during this year’s Tigerpalooza at El Paso High School. Organized by students in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, the event united hundreds of student volunteers for a day filled with dancing, basketball, and interactive activities tailored for students in special education programs across EPISD. Tigerpalooza continues to serve as a powerful reminder that in El Paso ISD, every student belongs, and every student is celebrated.
