(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT — March 27, 2026) — El Paso ISD is taking a bold step to strengthen student support systems by redesigning its College Career Technology Academy (CCTA) program, expanding access to resources and bringing services closer to where students live.
The redesign transitions CCTA from a standalone campus model to a distributed approach, where students will be served at Burges, Chapin, Franklin, and El Paso High School. The change is designed to improve student outcomes by increasing access to comprehensive, campus-based support systems while maintaining the flexible, personalized learning environment that defines CCTA.
CCTA has long served as an alternative school of choice for students seeking flexible scheduling and accelerated pathways toward earning a high school diploma. Under the new model, students will continue to benefit from personalized instruction while gaining access to expanded wraparound services, including graduation coaches, CCMR advisors, social workers, and additional academic and extracurricular opportunities.
The redesign also allows students to remain connected to a traditional high school environment, offering more opportunities to stay on track and explore college and career pathways.
El Paso ISD will work closely with students and families throughout the transition process to ensure continuity of services and individualized support.
