(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – May 4, 2026) — El Paso ISD has named Jennifer Arias as the new principal of Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy. Arias has over 25 years of experience in education and a strong background in academic leadership, college readiness, and student support.
She previously served as Assistant Principal of Guidance and Instruction at Irvin High School, where she has led efforts in master scheduling, Dual Credit alignment, and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) systems to support student success. Her experience also includes serving as a high school counselor and Advanced Placement social studies teacher at Coronado High School, where she helped strengthen college readiness pathways and instructional rigor.
“I am honored to serve the Young Women’s STEAM community and look forward to working alongside students, staff, and families to continue building a culture of excellence and opportunity,” Arias said.
Arias holds a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Texas at El Paso and holds a Principal as Instructional Leader certification. She is committed to fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and student-centered learning to ensure every student is prepared for success.
