Leading with voice and purpose! This morning, our Superintendent Student Advisory Council (SuperSAC) shared their insightful presentations on Campus Culture with the Board of Trustees.
The service and sacrifice of the members of the United States Military and their families is something we honor every day, and it comes into particular focus on Memorial Day, and I hope you all had a reflective and restful weekend with your families.
As we return for this final stretch of the school year, our focus remains squarely on fostering environments where every single child can thrive. This morning, the Board of Trustees and I had the distinct privilege of hearing a special presentation from our Superintendent Student Advisory Council (SuperSAC). Centered on the theme of Campus Culture, these impressive student leaders shared their extensive research and recommendations regarding safety, academic preparation, and student resources. Their dedication to uplifting their peers highlights the undeniable power of student voice and beautifully exemplifies our district-wide commitment to whole child development.

Inaugural ‘Copa de District’ Heads to the Finals

The excitement was electric last Saturday, May 23, as hundreds of student-athletes from across the city kicked off Round 1 of our first-ever El Paso ISD Copa de District soccer tournament. Presented by Southwest University, this premier event bridges the gap between the classroom and the pitch, teaching our students universal values like discipline, resilience, and teamwork. We invite our entire community to come out and experience the high-stakes international energy this weekend:

Rewarding Our Superheroes

We recently celebrated mathematics teachers Mr. William Coon and Ms. Noemi Gonzalez at Canyon Hills Middle School as the campus’s first two educators to earn local designations through the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). This program recognizes highly effective educators using rigorous classroom observations and student-growth metrics to provide state-funded financial rewards. Great schools are built by outstanding educators.
