(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – July 27, 2026) - The El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) Food & Nutrition Services Department is pleased to announce meal service information for the 2026–2027 school year under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP).
EPISD will continue participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) at qualifying campuses while providing free and reduced-price meal benefits through an application process at schools that do not qualify for CEP.
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Schools
Students attending qualifying CEP campuses will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of household income.
Because these schools participate in CEP, families do not need to complete a meal application for their students to receive free meals.
The Community Eligibility Provision helps reduce paperwork for families while ensuring every student has access to nutritious, balanced meals that support learning, health, and academic success.
Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications for Non-CEP Schools
Students attending schools that do not participate in CEP may still qualify for meal benefits through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

Franklin Magnet
Families of students attending these campuses are encouraged to complete a meal application if they believe they may qualify.

Paper applications are available upon request at your school’s Food & Nutrition Services office.
Important Information
Students approved for free meals will continue receiving free breakfast and lunch.
Students approved for reduced-price meals will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge.
Meal applications may be submitted at any time during the school year.
Eligibility is determined based on household income, participation in programs such as SNAP or TANF, or qualifying circumstances including foster care, homelessness, migrant status, or Head Start participation.
