(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – Aug. 6, 2026) — The El Paso Independent School District Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Matthew Reza and Brian Kelley to fill the vacant trustee seats representing Districts 6 and 7 respectively.

The appointments follow a community-driven selection process that included public candidate forums, interviews, and Board deliberations designed to ensure residents had an opportunity to learn more about each applicant.

District 6 represents Brown Middle School, Franklin High School, Guerrero Elementary School, Herrera Elementary School, Hornedo Middle School, Kohlberg Elementary School, Lundy Elementary School, Polk Elementary School, and Tippin Elementary School.

District 7 represents White Elementary School, Haskins PK-8, Murphree PK-8, Western Hills Elementary School, and Coronado High School.

As trustees, both Dr. Reza and Mr. Kelley will join the Board in overseeing district governance, establishing policy, adopting the annual budget, and supporting the district's mission of providing high-quality educational opportunities for every student.
