Guillen Middle School students celebrate their inspiring jump to a "B" rating and is just one of many El Paso ISD campuses celebrating top academic gains this year!
Hello El Paso ISD Community,
What a moment of celebration for El Paso ISD! Following last week’s release of the 2026 state accountability ratings, I am thrilled to officially congratulate our entire district on earning an overall "B" rating with an improved score of 82, up two points from last year. Across our campuses, 39 schools achieved an A or B rating, including 13 top-tier A-rated schools, and our district earned 38 total state Distinction Designations!
The remarkable growth we saw across our campuses such as Murphree PK-8 and Guillen Middle School jumping three full letter grades from an F to a B, and Tinajero PK-8 climbing to a B is a direct result of strong instructional leadership and everyday dedication in the classroom. During my campus visits, I have seen firsthand how our principals are actively coaching their teams, empowering educators, and driving the hard work that is truly turning our campuses around. Our teachers are also doing amazing work.
When I visited Ms. Eliana Castro’s 3rd grade math class at Coldwell Elementary, I witnessed the high quality instruction and engaged students who have made our academic achievements possible. As I continue visiting campuses across the district, I want to thank the incredible students, teachers, and staff who have welcomed me so far for showing me the amazing work happening every day. I look forward to seeing even more of your dedication in action. Let's continue to be great!
Sincerely,
Dr. Brian Lusk
Superintendent of Schools
