(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – September 25, 2026) — Learning doesn't stop when the school bell rings, and El Paso ISD is giving people opportunities to discover new interests and develop practical skills through its Healthy Living classes.
The free program offers El Paso ISD employees and community members opportunities to learn, create, stay active and connect with colleagues through a variety of classes and activities. Among the unique offerings are Fashion and Welding, giving participants the opportunity to develop hands-on skills that they may not otherwise have the chance to explore.
Classes and activities also include cooking, pottery, ceramics, hiking, book clubs and other wellness and hobby-based activities to provide a wide range of opportunities to appeal to different interests and lifestyles.
“Healthy Living is about giving people in our community opportunities to step outside of their everyday routines and try something new,” said Cecilia Bueno with El Paso ISD Human Resources. “Whether someone has always wanted to learn how to sew, try welding, get active or explore a new hobby, these classes provide a welcoming environment where people can learn new skills, connect with others and invest in their own well-being.”
The program is designed to encourage community members to make time for themselves while building connections. By offering opportunities to explore interests outside of the workplace, Healthy Living supports El Paso ISD’s broader commitment to employee well-being and a positive workplace culture.
Classes are offered at various times and locations throughout the year. People can view the current Healthy Living schedule and learn more about available classes at episd.org/healthyliving.
