National Night Out

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – Oct. 23, 2026) — El Paso ISD families are invited to enjoy an evening of spooky fun, community connections and school safety during the El Paso ISD Police Department’s Spooktacular National Night Out on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The districtwide event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bowie High School, in the parking lot near Great Bear Ct. and Piedras St. The event brings together students, families, staff, law enforcement officers and community partners for an evening focused on building relationships and strengthening community trust.

Attendees will have opportunities to meet El Paso ISD police officers in a relaxed, family-friendly setting, ask questions, learn about school safety and explore resources through interactive presentations and demonstrations. Local partners, including firefighters and other law enforcement agencies, also are expected to participate.

“National Night Out gives us an opportunity to see each other outside of an emergency or a call for service,” said El Paso ISD Police Chief Donica Pedregon. “It allows our children to meet the officers who protect their schools, families to get to know the people who serve them, and our community to see that law enforcement is about much more than responding when something goes wrong.”

Families are encouraged to wear costumes and enjoy an evening of activities in a safe, welcoming environment. The event also will feature musical performances by the Bowie High School band and mariachi groups. Food will also be available for purchase from the El Paso ISD Foo and Nutrition Department.

National Night Out brings communities and law enforcement together to promote safety, strengthen partnerships, and build positive relationships. Through events like this, El Paso ISD aims to provide opportunities for families to connect with the officers who serve district schools and learn more about the department’s role in supporting school communities.
