Celebrating Our Military Families: There wasn't a dry eye at Polk Elementary when this military family was reunited. ❤️🇺🇸 Watch video »

Dear El Paso ISD Community,

As we step into November, we proudly observe Veterans and Military Family Appreciation Month. Here in El Paso ISD, our connection to the military community is a core part of who we are. We are honored to serve thousands of military-connected students and families across our district, providing the stability, continuity, and support they deserve. We deeply recognize the unique sacrifices our service members and their families make, and we invite you to explore our El Paso ISD Military Engagement Page to learn more about how we support our military-connected scholars.

That spirit of resilience and excellence is also reflected in our alumni who shine on the national stage. I want to send a massive congratulations to El Paso native, UTEP alumna, and Irvin High School graduate Kayla Thornton, who captured her second WNBA championship over the weekend as the Golden State Valkyries clinched the title in a thrilling Game 7! From her roots at Irvin High to the professional hardwood, Kayla continues to make the entire Borderland proud.

Thank you for your continued dedication to our students, our families, and our community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian Lusk
Superintendent of Schools

Staff Spotlight

a teacher and her students in a classroom

For 19 years, 18 of them at Andress High School, Suzana Jackson has been a pillar of dedication for El Paso ISD! Driven by her deep love for her students, Ms. Jackson makes it a priority to attend their extra-curricular events and support them both inside and outside the classroom. Her commitment to being Right Here, Right Now is extraordinary: she has only missed a single half-day of school this entire year, and that was strictly to attend professional development to bring fresh ideas back to her students. Thank you, Ms. Jackson, for your decades of devotion, enthusiasm, and steadfast support for the Eagles community!
