AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES 95TH GRADUATING CLASS

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – June 09, 2026) — Austin High School proudly celebrated its 95th graduating class as 223 seniors crossed the stage and prepared to begin the next chapter of their educational and professional journeys.

The Class of 2026 leaves behind an impressive legacy of academic achievement, earning more than $4 million in scholarships and accumulating more than 1,500 college credit hours while still in high school. This year also marks a historic first for Austin as the school graduated its first class of students who earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science while still in high school.

Leading the class were Valedictorian Jalizza Marquez and Salutatorian Xander Cunningham, whose dedication and academic excellence placed them among the top students in their graduating class.

Austin High School also recognized Kylie Joseph as the All Austin Girl and Jacob Rodriguez as the All Austin Boy for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the campus community.

Members of the top 2 percent of the graduating class include:

• Xander Blake Cunningham
• Jalizza Leilani Marquez
• Samantha Pedroza Uriarte

Since its founding, Austin High School has played a vital role in educating generations of El Paso students. The Class of 2026 continues that tradition by demonstrating excellence both inside and outside the classroom while preparing for success in college, careers, military service, and beyond.

"The Class of 2026 has demonstrated resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence throughout their time at Austin High School. Their accomplishments, from earning scholarships and college credit hours to excelling in academics and extracurricular activities, reflect the bright future that lies ahead for each of them. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to all they will accomplish," said Principal Maribel Ruiz.

El Paso ISD congratulates the Austin High School Class of 2026 and wishes its graduates continued success as they pursue their goals and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
