Literacy remains undefeated at El Paso ISD’s first It Starts With a Book Lit Fest 🤼
Happy Tuesday! Teacher Appreciation Week is off to a great start and I want to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible educators who lead our classrooms with passion and purpose every day. Your dedication is the heartbeat of our district, and the impact you have on our students’ futures is truly immeasurable. With only five weeks remaining in the school year, I want to encourage all our students to stay focused, attend school every day, and make every moment count as we reach the finish line.
As we navigate this busy season of final milestones and celebrations, let’s continue to prioritize safety and look out for one another so we can finish this year strong and together. I am so proud of the work being done across our campuses, and I look forward to a week of celebrating the people who make El Paso ISD such a special place to learn and grow.
Things to Know
Honoring Our Educators: Teacher Appreciation Week

Throughout this week, we are taking the time to celebrate the nearly 3,400 educators who call El Paso ISD home. From early childhood to high school graduation, our teachers are the mentors and guides who inspire our students to dream big. We invite our entire community to join the celebration. Whether it’s a handwritten note, a shout-out on social media using #ItStartsWithUs, or a simple "thank you" in the hallway, let’s make sure our teachers know just how much they are valued.

Spirit of Unity

Last Thursday and Friday, our district came together for one of our most inspiring traditions, the 8th Annual Unidos Games. Hundreds of students from across El Paso ISD showcased their athletic talents, built new friendships, and demonstrated that achievement truly has no limits. It was a joy to see the winning logo designs by Alondra Iniguez and Isabela Shiel featured throughout the event. Thank you to the families, staff, and volunteers who filled the stands to cheer on our athletes and celebrate the inclusive spirit that defines our district.
A Celebration of Literacy

Our community turned out in a big way this past Saturday for the “It Starts with a Book†Literacy Festival at Hartley PK-8. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying STEAM activities with La Nube and picking out free books to take home. A special thank you to our celebrated authors and illustrators for spending time with our students and helping us foster a lifelong love of reading.
