(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – September 23, 2026) — Walking the halls of Clendenin Elementary School, students are greeted by vibrant, larger-than-life visuals that instantly spark their curiosity. Installed this past July, these custom window films have transformed the campus into an immersive environment for learning. This beautification project is the handiwork of the El Paso ISD Print Shop, an in-house team of dedicated professionals who are now extending their premium design and printing services to the greater El Paso community.

“We are incredibly proud to have a resource like the El Paso ISD Print Shop right here in our district,” said Raul Mendoza, Principal of Clendenin Elementary. “The custom window films they designed and installed over the summer have completely transformed our environment. We are proud of the work they did; it has created a vibrant, welcoming space that our students and staff absolutely love.”

Behind these transformative projects are skilled printers like Abel Rodriguez and Jesus Ortiz Fierro. For them, the work is about much more than ink and vinyl, it’s about community impact.

“It’s very fun to see it when the work is completed,” Rodriguez shared. “We feel really proud about our projects and are happy to know it’s making a difference in our district. We feel like we’re providing a space for students’ imagination to run wild and inspire them in their learning.”

That inspiration is tangible when students return to campus. “It’s like when kids see the work we’ve done, whether it’s a big horse or a dog or whatever, they come in and feel excited to learn and expand their imagination,” Rodriguez added.

Ortiz Fierro echoed that sentiment, noting the emotional payoff of their labor. “We love our work, and we feel proud when the students get excited about it. It makes our jobs very humbling and rewarding.”

The stunning final products are the result of intense collaboration. The Print Shop operates as a cohesive unit, employing talented graphic artists who bring initial concepts to life. The process is meticulous. After artwork is drafted, team members conduct site visits to measure spaces, whether windows, doors, or walls, ensuring precise dimensions. If adjustments are needed, the team makes rapid corrections to guarantee a flawless installation.

This dedication to quality can be seen across the district. The El Paso ISD Print Shop has successfully executed high-profile beautification projects at Franklin High School and Brown Middle School. Currently, the team is working with Coronado High School to install dynamic custom film on the walls for the girls’ basketball team, proving that their architectural films are versatile enough for almost any surface.

While the Print Shop has long been the district's best-kept secret, they officially opened their doors to the public last year.
