Welcome Back, El Paso ISD! Students across our district are supporting each other and being buddies as we celebrate National Bullying Prevention Month!
Dear El Paso ISD Community,
I hope our students, families, and staff enjoyed a wonderful and restful Fall Break! We are excited to welcome everyone back as we step into another energizing stretch of the school year.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to reinforce what we value most at El Paso ISD, creating school communities where every student feels safe, supported, and connected. Through our Buddies, Not Bullies initiative, we encourage students to choose kindness, inclusion, and respect every day.
Families are encouraged to explore resources and reporting tools on the El Paso ISD Bullying Prevention Page or contact the Family Help Desk for guidance and support. Together, let's build a culture of Buddies, Not Bullies on every campus.
October is also National Principals Month! Our campus principals are dedicated leaders who work each day to support teachers, inspire students, and partner with families to strengthen our school communities. Please join me throughout the month in recognizing and thanking your school leadership team for their unwavering commitment to the students and families of El Paso ISD.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brian Lusk
Superintendent of Schools
Staff Spotlight

This week is National School Lunch Week, and I’d like to thank our cafeteria staff for the hard work they do in serving our students each day. Special recognition goes to Sandra Jurado, the Cafeteria Manager at Mesita ECDC, who has been with the district for 44 years! Sandra, thank you for your commitment to helping our students stay fed and healthy!
Things to Know
Support Our Students on El Paso Giving Day (Oct. 15)

You can directly impact classrooms across our district by supporting the El Paso ISD Education Foundation during El Paso Giving Day! For over 30 years, the Foundation has funded innovative classroom grants and student scholarships beyond traditional budgets. Early giving is open now through October 14, and donations made on official Giving Day (October 15 starting at 8 a.m.) may be eligible for a dollar-for-dollar Meta Match opportunity. Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

This week marks the conclusion of National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15). We are proud to honor the deep cultural roots, traditions, and outstanding achievements of Hispanic leaders and community members who continue to shape El Paso ISD and our Borderland region.
Mandatory 2027 Health Benefits Open Enrollment for Employees

A quick reminder for all El Paso ISD staff members: Mandatory Open Enrollment for 2027 health coverage runs from October 26 through November 18, 2026. Because health insurance premiums and plan options are adjusting for the 2027 plan year (taking effect January 15, 2027), active participation is required. On-site First Financial (FFGA) representatives will be visiting campuses districtwide to provide step-by-step assistance—you can review the full On-Site Open Enrollment Assistance Schedule to plan your visit.
