Melissa Estrada Charles Middle School, Principal New El Paso ISD Appointment

(EL PASO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – October 25, 2024) — El Paso ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Melissa Estrada as the new principal of Charles Middle School. With over 17 years of experience in education, Estrada brings a wealth of knowledge in instructional leadership, student achievement, and school transformation. 

 Estrada, who most recently served as the Assistant Principal at Captain John L. Chapin High School, has a strong track record of success in improving academic environments and supporting faculty and students. At Chapin, she played a key role in raising the campus accountability rating from a “C” to a “B,” while fostering a positive school culture. Her previous experience as Assistant Principal at Charles Middle School and Nolan Richardson Middle School also prepared her to excel in this new role. 

Holding a Master’s in Education Administration from Sul Ross State University and a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, Estrada’s focus is on prioritizing student success through effective leadership and innovative educational practices. She is passionate about building relationships with students, staff, and the community to ensure Charles Middle School continues to thrive.
